As a Christian faith based organization, we firmly believe that the main solution to every family crisis is Christ. The problem is that the ancient traditional religious church organizations and the numerous amounts of so called "Christian Denominations" in the world today have failed to realize that nowhere in the Bible do we see Christ asking or telling us to form a religion or to build Church buildings. The amount of money raised by all these Christian Religious organizations has to go towards maintaining their large corporate structure and maintenance overhead expenses and all the other perks, travel expenses, paid vacations, pensions plans and of course executive ministerial salaries.

We believe that establishing Biblical principles in the home is a must, but to take these families and ask them to go to a religious meeting in a earthly religious building to sit and be asked to listen to a long sermon where no one can ask a question or share a concern. Do not take this the wrong way, there are many organizations that are doing a good work for the community and around the world but in those congregations there are still many victims that could be helped if it were not for the church building's mortgage, expensive sound and light systems, utilities, security system and personnel on staff who work solely to maintain the building and all the rest of the budget that goes to support this structure which remains empty for most of the week and maybe opens up for 2-3 hours a day for more religious meetings.

The main goal is to make each home a place where family and neighbors can come together and pray, read, share, sing and learn about God and His true original plan for all mankind. The family lives the Christian life and it becomes obvious to all those who come into their home that there is something different about their abode it is filled with love, there is a peace and joy fills the air. The family is open and honest with each other and ready to help their neighbor. This may open a can of worms and may even cause us to lose your support because you don't agree with this concept, but we are not here to try and seduce or please anyone we are here because we want to serve God and please God and a truly Christ centered family where God is the true head of the home is guaranteed to remain united, have obedient God fearing children, a Marriage relationship that will withstand all types of challenges and further more help others through their particular crisis. The first Christian groups met in homes for over 300 years, not needing but supplying the needs of the needy, there were no large offering drives or building fund campaigns, there was worship and good deeds.

Building Families has no office to maintain, your donation does not go towards lights bills, executive salaries, travel expenses and all the normal expenditures that run along with large organizations. Rather yet, each building has a multipurpose use which provides an income to help maintain the mission work. The Dominican Republic is a poor country, and the people are in need of everyone's help. The director of this organization gives much of his own earnings to the expansion of this mission. He has developed Home leaders, who teach, counsel and lead many to learn how to run a home where God is in charge. We started training these leaders over four (4) years ago.

The traditional religious organization has one person, the pastor, reverend or even elders in some cases, that are left with the burden to visit the sick, the incarcerated, counsel the couple that is contemplating divorce or has already separated from one another. This person has to manage the organization plus handle every personal emergency that comes up in each home. It has come to the point where if it's not the pastor who calls or visits the church is not a good church and this organization, as it grows, cannot meet the individual needs of every family crisis and maintain a successful organization. The late president John F. Kennedy once said: "Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country." The traditional church as you know it today has failed to bring the message home and has been trying to get everyone to come out from their homes to receive the message.

The smallest group within any society is the home, in order for any nation to have a great leader there must be a focus on the home. Every political leader today tries to address the needs of each home but while we are busy voting or listening to great speeches our families and homes are dying every second of the day. Every minute a home is divided or in some type of crisis without hope, and we think we can solve these issues by trying to preach religion instead of trying to teach and form relationships. God wants us to love one another, to serve one another, He says to love your neighbor as yourself and to love Him with all your heart. He never said make a religion, build a building and invite people to come and hear you preach; He tells us to go out into the entire world and teach. Teaching extinguishes ignorance, the Bible tells us to seek wisdom, it also says that people perish for lack of knowledge. It all means that we must go and teach young men and women on how to have a successful marriage, raise their children with Christian morals and principles, form a Christ like character in each child which will in turn create great leadership and a new hope, for a new generation.

Today forming Christian Home leaders is the most challenging task this group has faced, attempting to give each child an opportunity to be raised with the know how if what a true home should be like, would be better than any Harvard Law degree, any medical degree or engineering degree. These home leaders go each evening into homes and bring hope that these families can experience right at home, they don't preach they teach and interact and invite neighbors to do the same.

We took the worst neighborhood we could find in the northern section of the island, where the average young teenage girl is living with some guy at the age of 14 and already with her first child at 15, uneducated with no chance of a career this relationship does not last creating a single mother who runs home to her mother (whose husband also left for another younger woman). The average 24 year old women, in this neighborhood, have at least 2-3 children already between the ages of 6-10 years of age. This is where our school comes in to educate both child and parent. A trade for the parent and an education for the child, some parents are learning to read and write and others we are trying to teach a skill or get them a job while their child is in school.

The Home leaders are our future to changing some of the worst neighborhoods and it is our prayer that this work can cross the ocean and do the same work in North America and Europe eventually into all the word.

We do have books written on these issues but they all refer back to the Bible as the only true source. While the Bible focuses on relationships the traditional church has focused on religion. We see & hear efforts to convert people to a certain religion to become a Baptist, Jehovah's Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Pentecostal, Mormon Latter Day Saints, and the list goes on... but tell anyone of them you are a Christian and your goal is to follow Christ and not a religion, they will not understand because religion is always stronger than relationships. Sad but true, just read history and see how much damage religion has done over the past and today who is paying the price? Our Families and Homes!
